Beyond Mapping Supplements: The Beyond Mapping column has been running in GeoWorld magazine since March, 1989. The series of articles focus on general issues and analysis capabilities of GIS technology. The articles have been compiled into the books Beyond Mapping: Concepts, Algorithms and Issues in GIS (Berry, 1993) and Spatial Reasoning for Effective GIS (Berry, 1995).

The articles since September, 1996 have been compiled into an online book entitled Map Analysis.
